Thank God 2011 is over. With it goes all the drama, conflict, and scandal that made Nigeria sometimes an unbearable place to live in. But (and this is a very big but), maybe it wasn’t so bad after all. There was also the music that made the dance-floor the perfect place to forget those conflicts, the events that helped us get away from reality, and the people that, throughout the year, gave us fodder for gossip, laughter and sometimes, even tears.
There were the blogs we went to, to laugh at red-carpet ‘fauxshionistas’, the hot spots to be seen at, the moments that united us as a people, and the tragedies that brought us to our knees.
If you weren’t tweeting about the hottest topics from your Blackberry, you were probably taking a picture or playing ‘Angry Birds’ on your iPad, or for the lucky ones listening to music on your ‘Beats by Dre’. So yes, thank God 2011 is over. It’s a year that gave us new music, new moments, and the memories that will take us till 2012 and beyond. Here are 300 of those things that made 2011 a year to remember.
