When popular Fuji musician Wasiu Mogbolahan Anifowoshe aka K1 turned 55 on the 3rd of March 2012, many had anticipated the usual series of parties which attracted both friends and fans, with too much to eat and drink for everyone. This was not to be this year, as it turned out to be a day for sober reflection.
At his mansion in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, people who had come to celebrate with the Fuji King where surprised when they weren’t greeted with the usual variety of expensive alcoholic wines and champagne as was the case in the past, instead K1 took time out to lecture his guests on the dangers of alcohol to the human body, he confessed to them that it was due to too much intake of alcohol that necessitated his need for surgery abroad a while back. It used to cost K1 about N2m to purchase four bottles of rare champagne anytime he marked his birthday.
There however was enough to eat and drink, but not a single drop of alcohol was either served by the host or consumed by the guests, as many of them went home quite disappointed
